WILDFLOWER HIKES–BIG HILL PARK AND ROCK RIVER PRAIRIE
April 26 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Free
Meet at the parking lot of the Welty Environmental Center, 1201 Big Hill Court, Beloit
Starting from the Welty Environmental Center, this hike begins in Big Hill Park to look for migrating birds and the earliest spring wildflowers of the woods. Trails in this park are wide, but some are steep; hiking difficulty is moderate. Be prepared for a long walk up and down in the park. Then we’ll drive a short distance
to see the earliest spring wildflowers of the Rock River Prairie State Natural Area and look for birds migrating north along the Rock River valley. Hiking difficulty there is easy, but expect to walk through tall grasses on undeveloped trails.
This event is free and open to the public.
