NIGHT NATURE HIKE AT ROCKPORT PARK
June 13 @ 9:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Free
Meet at the west end of the parking lot next to the swimming pool in Rockport Park in Janesville.
Join us for a night hike in Janesville’s largest park for a warm summer evening in June. This is the peak time of the year to see bats, fireflies and glowworms, smell the night-blooming wildflowers and hear the calls of owls, frogs, and toads. This is an excellent program for families with children or for scout groups, church groups, etc.
Wear light-colored clothing and footwear suitable for hiking. Hiking difficulty ranges from easy to moderate and a hiking stick is recommended. Be prepared for mosquitoes with your own mosquito repellent. Please leave your flashlights at home.
If rain threatens, call the Janesville parks cancellation hotline at 608-373-4380 for weather related cancellations and/or rescheduling.
This event is free and open to the public.
