A 41-year-old convicted sex offender from Janesville who’s not allowed to have contact with his children because he’s charged with physically and sexually abusing them, is facing new charges after being caught at a local retailer with two of the kids his $10,000 bail prohibits him from having unsupervised contact with.
Brandon Lee Stevens was sentenced to two-and-and-a-half years in prison and ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life after pleading guilty to second-degree sexual assault of a child in 2007.
In August of 2023 Stevens was charged in Rock County Court with two counts of felony child abuse. According to the criminal complaint, he beat an 11-year-old all over his body with closed fists, and knocked a kindergartner out on her first day of school.
A month later Stevens was charged with first-degree sexual assault of a child in Rock County Court. In that case, Stevens is accused of molesting his then 11 or 12 year old daughter in 2016 or 2017 in Janesville.
Stevens was charged with two counts of felony bail jumping this week after the detective investigating the 2023 cases saw him at Walmart in Janesville with two of his children.
He’s currently being held in the Rock County Jail on a new $5,000 cash bond.
