| By Big Radio News Staff | A 49-year-old Janesville man is charged in Rock County Court with five counts of possession of child pornography.
According to the criminal complaint, Janesville Police received a tip from the Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigations about suspected child pornography that had been uploaded to Amazon photos by a person who lives on Midvale Drive in Janesville.
A detective review the files and found a number of images of naked pre-pubescent children.
Janesville Police executed a search warrant on the home last week, during which Dean Merath was present. Officers say Merath admitted that the child pornography was his.
Merath made his initial appearance in Rock County Court last week where cash bond was set at $2,500. He was also ordered to have no contact with any minors other than his own children.
