A 27-year-old Milton woman is accused of causing more than $20,000 in damage to the apartment she was being evicted from by plugging the drains and turning on the faucets.
According to the criminal complaint, Milton Police responded to an apartment on John Paul Road on the report that upstairs tenants had moved out and caused a flood which collapsed the downstairs tenants ceiling.
Police inspected the upstairs apartment and found the sinks were all plugged with overflowing water, there was an obscenity painted on the wall with nail polish, and food and garbage were smashed into the carpets.
Officers spoke with the former tenant Chesni Renae Eick who at first denied knowing anything about the damage, but eventually admitted that she alone, and not the other tenant on the lease, had caused it.
Eick is scheduled to make her initial appearance in Rock County Court on a single count of felony criminal damage to property on March 3rd.
