A 47-year-old Beloit woman is accused of using another person’s social security number and identity while working at American Construction Metals in Beloit from 2008 to 2023.
According to the criminal complaint a woman who lives in Texas but who works seasonally at Seneca Foods in Janesville contacted police after she learned that there was a person using her social security number to work.
Police spoke with officials at ACM who said the woman using the false social security number also provided an address on Merill Street in Beloit.
Through prior contact with the residence officers identified 47-year-old Petra Lopez as a suspect.
Police stopped by her house several times but were never able to make contact with her. Rock County Judge Derrick Grubb issued a warrant for Lopez’s arrest last week.
She faces a single charge of identity theft.
