The Janesville Police Department needs help identifying the owner of a loose dog that bit a person today on the city’s west side.
The incident happened at noon in the 2300 block of Harvard Drive. The dog is described as a 15- to 20-pound short hair, white in color and possibly a male mixed breed.
The dog had no collar but appeared clean and well-groomed, signs it might have escaped from a yard or home. The dog ran off and remains on the loose.
Anyone with information on the dog, its owner or its location is asked to contact the non-emergency number of the Rock County Communications Center at 608-757-2244.
