The Children’s Museum of Rock County Foundation completes the purchase of the former First National Bank building in downtown Janesville.
The Foundation was created to provide long-term funding and support of the children’s museum, and will act as the owner of the museum building.
Foundation Board President Sara Iverson-Smith says the property is basically being donated by the Forward Foundation, although there is a nominal price.
The Children’s Museum plans to re-purpose the historic potion of the bank building while demolishing and rebuilding the existing edition. To date, the project has raised over $14 million.
