The public will get its chance to join the Whitewater Unified School District’s superintendent search.

Search firm Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates set a trio of focus groups to help the company and school board develop a candidate profile as they look for a successor for Superintendent Caroline Pate-Hefty.

The first focus group will be for school district staff. It will be online from 7 to 7:45 p.m. Thursday, April 24.

Another online session from noon to 12:45 p.m. Friday, April 25, will be for non-school employees, as will an in-person meeting from 6 to 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, in the library at Whitewater High School.

Focus group participants will be asked what strengths the district already has, what challenges the district is facing and what characteristics people would like to see in the new superintendent.

Links to the virtual meetings can be found on the school district’s website.
