The School District of Janesville hires a new elementary school leader.
The school board approved a district recommendation to hire Rachel Bynum as the next principal at Lincoln Elementary School.
Lincoln’s previous principal, Dr. Shawn Galvin, left that post to become superintendent for the Parkview School District in Orfordville.
Bynum currently works as an assistant principal at an elementary school in Kissimmee, Florida. She earned her undergraduate degree in education from UW-Oshkosh in 2005 and her master’s degree from the University of Central Florida in 2013.
Her one-year contract in Janesville starts July 1st and her recommended salary will be $115,000.
