While construction work is still more than a year away, professionals from Eppstein Uhen Architects and JP Cullen have worked nearly 2,000 hours to plan and design renovations for three district buildings, their representatives told the school board Tuesday night.
It’s just the first phase of $151.4 million worth of referendum projects to come for 20 district buildings over the next five years. District voters approved the spending last fall.
Mike Johnson from JP Cullen says the architects and contractors are using 3D photography and laser scanning technology to produce highly detailed planning documents he says should translate to financial savings for the school district.
The final projects to be paid for by a 2020 capital referendum are approaching an end, as well. EUA’s Tory Schulz says the bidding process is about to begin for security upgrades at Craig and Parker high schools.
