The Boys & Girls Club of Janesville says it will launch work on its future kids’ clubhouse on the south side in just a couple of weeks.
The Janesville nonprofit says it has raised $10 million of the $12 million it needs to build a new youth facility at 925 South Jackson Street. The Boys & Girls Club says having much of the needed cash in hand proves the project has enough momentum to go forward.
The Boys & Girls Club’s architect on the project said last month the group sought to break ground in May. Monday’s announcement lines up with the architect’s earlier prediction.
A public ceremony to break ground on the new Boys & Girls Club facility rolls at 4 p.m. May 19th at the South Jackson Street site.
Meanwhile, the Boys & Girls Club’s capital campaign for the project continues to roll. For more information on the clubhouse, visit bgcjanesville.org.
