The Beloit woman charged with draining an elderly couple’s bank account of over $80,000 while acting as their payee seems to be getting a second chance in the form of a deferred prosecution agreement.
As 39-year-old Annabelle Strzyzykowski waived her right to a preliminary hearing in Rock County Court Monday afternoon, the victim’s brother made a statement.
He said the victim’s trust has been destroyed but that they hope a plea agreement will help Strzyzykowski get the help she needs to turn her life around.
Strzyzykowski’s attorney Trish Arreazola said that the state had made an offer, which her client will likely take.
The thefts came to light when one of the victim’s bills at Rock Haven Nursing Home went unpaid. At that point adult protective services were called in.
Strzyzykowski is charged with two counts of felony theft. She is currently free on a signature bond.
