If you don’t have an office, but you need one, you might find a place at a former warehouse-turned-office building in Janesville.

Jon Ballard is the owner of Foremost Media, which is inside the Gray Goose, a renovated former tobacco warehouse. It is at 207 North Academy Street on the edge of downtown Janesville.

This month, the five-story building hatched new co-working space — office space for rent to individuals or small groups who need bona fide office work space, either daily or occasionally.

Ballard says other than the IronTek co-working space in downtown Beloit, Rock County has a shortage of professional space for people who don’t need a full-size office every day of the week.

Business consultant Kelsey Paasch manages the space. Her goal is to create a comfortable environment for people who want to work solo – but to gear the space, too, for work in a group setting.

Among those in the space now are two business consultants and a broker who finds temporary rental housing for visiting physicians.
