Thirty-six Walworth County groups receive a share of $238,000 in federal grant money from the county and United Way.
The organizations received between $1,000 and $9,000 each and can use the money for help with business planning, payroll support or outreach to people from populations affected by COVID-19.
Grant recipients included public libraries; American Legion posts; children’s service organizations like the Boys & Girls Club and Big Brothers, Big Sisters; museums; churches; and more. The full list can be found here.
This round of grants comes from $400,000 in federal money approved by the county’s Board of Supervisors for 2025 and 2026. The rest will be granted to more nonprofits next year with the application process to begin in January.
