The namesake of Beloit billionaire and ABC Supply mogul Diane Hendricks will grace a photo riser planned in the main lobby of the future Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center in Janesville.
The city of Janesville announces in a memo Wednesday that the Hendricks Foundation has committed to a $500,000 donation to support the Woodman’s Center, which is under construction now.
The Hendricks Foundation and the city have agreed the donation should cover the naming rights for a two-tier riser that would be used at a photo stage. It would be set along the windows of the Woodman’s Center’s main lobby at 2510 Milton Avenue.
The city council is slated to ratify the deal Monday.
Hendricks’s agreement is one of the largest-scale donations to the Woodman’s Center. The deal comes as the city builds out the $46 million, public-private ice arena, sports complex and convention hall.
It comes alongside other major donations by Woodman’s Food Market, the Kennedy Family Foundation, and Mercyhealth.
The city says in the memo the future photo stage would be called the Hendricks Family stage.
The Woodman’s Center is slated to open in September.
