Janesville police say they’re treating the fire that damaged a home on the city’s east side as arson — and they’re investigating the death of one person linked to the fire as a possible suicide.
Police have not released details in the investigation of a fire Sunday night in the 4200 block of Valencia Drive Sunday night. But the PD confirms a resident of the home died.
No further details were available.
The fire was reported about 7 p.m. Sunday. 911 authorities told Big Radio one ambulance dispatched to the house was sent to a hospital.
Authorities say the fire caused moderate damage to the home. Janesville Fire Department turned over the investigation to police, calling the fire “suspicious.”
