The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Rock County is offering a new workshop designed to help older individuals prevent themselves from falling. Health Promotion Coordinator Lisa Messer says Stepping On is a seven class series for adults ages 60 and over. Messer says participants of Stepping On will be learning a number of skills and useful information.
She believes it is important for older individuals take these steps in order to avoid serious injury or death and expensive healthcare costs. The program has been shown to reduce falls by 31-percent. The workshop will be held at Mercyhealth Mall in Janesville each Wednesday from April 30th and June 11th. Those who wish to attend must register by April 18th.
