It’s time to make some tough choices for the School District of Beloit.
Voters narrowly rejected a $40.2 million, three year operational referendum Tuesday night. The unofficial vote total was 4,306 in favor and 4,447 against.
The district says main priorities to address with the 2025 referendum would have included staff compensation, academic improvement, and better behavioral support for staff and students.
District voters rejected a two-year operational and a capital referendum in spring 2023, then voted down another operational referendum question in spring 2024.
