Janesville middle school students have the chance at a free sightseeing trip to Washington D.C.
A grant from the Herb Kohl Foundation is allowing the Boys & Girls Club of Janesville to take 40 sixth through eighth graders to the nation’s capital.
CEO Rebecca Veium says the five-day, all-expenses-paid trip in July will include sightseeing at some of the nation’s most iconic locations, including Capitol Hill, the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, and the United States Holocaust Museum.
Applications are available at the Boys & Girls Club and in the assistant principal’s office at Marshall, Edison and Franklin middle schools. Applications are due by 6 p.m. April 1.
Youth selected for this trip will need to enroll in the Boys & Girls Club of Janesville and participate in a series of educational sessions leading up to the trip.
