A Janesville man is sentenced to federal prison for fentanyl possession.

The U.S. Attorney’s office for the Western District of Wisconsin says Cedric Sanders, 26, will serve 7½ years after pleading guilty to possessing fentanyl intended for distribution and possessing firearms as a felon in December.

Sanders sold drugs to confidential informants and undercover police on multiple occasions in November 2023.

Police searched his home in December and found guns, ammo, magazines and a suppressor; nearly $13,000 in cash and nearly 400 grams of fentanyl in the form of more than 4,500 pills.

The Janesville Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration led the investigation. Sanders was sentenced Friday.
