The warmer weather means road construction season is beginning in earnest in Janesville.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is looking to improve safety at the 5 points intersection in Janesville.

Construction Project Manager Adam Kopp says starting Monday crews will be installing upgrading traffic signals, improving turns lanes, updating pedestrian crossings, and updating pavement markings.

Motorists can expect a full closure of the intersection until July. Kopp says by then, they hope to have the intersection open to one lane of traffic in both directions. The project is expected to wrap up in mid August.

The work coincides with the reconstruction of West Court Street from Washington Street to Waveland Road.
