Craig High School in Janesville will host first responder training next week during the school district’s spring break.
The Janesville Police Department says people should not be alarmed if they notice an increased presence of police and other emergency personnel at the school between March 24-28.
JPD says its officers and those from neighboring agencies will work on active threat response with an emphasis on initial actions to be taken in active threat situations.
There will also be training for Janesville police and fire personnel on rescue task force exercises designed to speed up the treatment, evacuation and transport of victims to hospitals after emergency events.
