Authorities say they’ve located a woman who went missing nearly a month ago while on an apparent trip to Florida.

Beloit police announced Sunday that authorities and family have located Rebecca L. Osmond, the 47-year-old Beloit woman whose family said they last heard from her February 22nd as she was headed to Tampa, Florida on an Amtrak train.

On Facebook posts, family says Osmond was a frequent traveler between her home state of Wisconsin, and Florida, where she likes to visit friends.

She was supposed to have arrived in Tampa on February 24th, but her family said they never heard from her and her phone was shut off, which was unlike Osmond.

Police have only said Osmond has been located. They’re stopped short of giving further information, including why Osmond apparently remained unreachable for days — and why it took Osmond’s family and police three weeks to find her and get in touch with her.

In a Facebook post, Beloit police thank the community for their “care and concern” over the missing woman.
