UW Whiterwater Hosting Special Olympics State Summer Games

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is hosting the Special Olympics State Summer Games for a third consecutive year.
The games will be held from June 5th through the 7th.  UW Whitewater Director of Camps and Conferences Lucas Peterson says athletes will be competing in several events, including cornhole, powerlifting, soccer, tennis, and track and field.
Opening ceremonies will be held at Perkins Stadium.  The evening includes the parade of athletes and lighting of the torch.
Competition takes place at Kachel Fieldhouse inside the Williams Center, Rex Foster Track, and the Warhawk Outdoor Tennis Complex.
