The School District of Janesville is in the homestretch of finishing its school safety projects approved in a referendum vote in 2020.
Superintendent Mark Holzman told the school board Tuesday night that schematic designs for work at Craig and Parker high schools are set and that construction will start this summer.
District officials recently toured Granite Ridge Elementary School in Cottage Grove and Nicolet High School in Glendale to see some of the designs in practice.
Work paid for under the 2024 referendum vote will start this summer, too. Holzman says bids are out for roof repairs at Lincoln and Washington elementary schools, Franklin and Marshall middle schools, and Rock River Charter School.
The superintendent also says bid packages for work at six district buildings should be ready by this summer, keeping the district on pace to start that construction in June 2026.
