Sun Prairie man charged in connection with 2019 burglaries

|Big Radio News | A 41-year-old Sun Prairie man is charged in Rock County Court in connection with smash-and-grab burglaries that occurred in Janesville more than five years ago.

According to the criminal complaint, two suspects broke into Sam’s Club just after 4:00 a.m. on November 28th of 2019, and used a hockey bag to steal jewelry and watches.

While officers were on scene another call came in about a break-in at US Cellular. Surveillance footage showed the same suspects breaking in and using the same hockey bag to steal merchandise.

In January of 2020 Wauwatosa Police arrested Carl Carter for a similar burglary and found him in possession of items that were used and stolen during the Janesville burglaries.

Carter is currently serving a four-year prison sentence after being convicted in Milwaukee County of burglary. He was also sentenced to serve two-and-a-half years in federal prison for conspiring to transport and transporting stolen goods.
