More details from Kwik Trip on its plans for one of its Janesville locations.

Company spokesman Ben Leibl says Kwik Trip wants to tear down its store at 254 E. Memorial Drive and replace it with a bigger, more modern one.

The current building went up in 1989 with a few modifications since then.

Leibl says the new building would be about 9,200 square feet, at least twice as big as the current one. He said the company is also considering a land purchase as part of the project.

Leibl says the Memorial Drive location is the only one in Janesville to be considered for a rebuild at this time.

The company will take part in a neighborhood meeting to discuss its plans with the public. The meeting will be in the program room at Hedberg Public Library from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 13.
