A Janesville man is charged in multiple vehicle thefts in recent months. Prosecutors say 47-year-old Shawn Johnson took cash and multiple financial cards from a vehicle on December 2nd in the 100 block of State Street in the City of Beloit.
He used the cards to make purchases at a Speedway. Johnson is also accused of stealing a Steve Madden purse valued at 250-dollars from a vehicle on the same block on January 8th. He then made a purchase at a Clark Oil in Beloit with a card that was in the purse. Johnson also took money from an employee’s vehicle parked outside Lincoln Academy in Beloit on January 27th. Investigators used surveillance footage to identified the suspect as Johnson, who faces theft and identity theft charges.
