The 35-year-old Beloit man who a Beloit Police officer shot at and missed after he charged at her last spring takes a plea deal in Rock County Court.
According to online court records Wednesday morning Thomas O. Sykes plead guilty to two counts of bail jumping and resisting an officer. Judge Ashley Morse dismissed but read into the record additional charges of burglary, child abuse, and two counts of disorderly conduct.
According to the criminal complaint, a female officer shot her gun at Sykes as he continued to sprint toward her after she repeatedly told him to stop.
It was after officers showed up at the 800 block of Oak Street to deal with a complaint Sykes was entering homes, assaulting young children, and acting erratically.
Judge Morse sentenced Sykes to serve nine month in the Rock County Jail followed by 18 months of probation.
