Authorities say a Beloit man is jailed on a $100,000 bond for human trafficking and a host of other violent crimes after a nearly three-week police investigation.

Beloit police say they arrested sixty-year-old Charles A. Bell on January 26th. That was after authorities got reports of what they call a “violent incident” in the city of Beloit.

Police say they found evidence on scene and through further investigation to charge Bell with human trafficking, alongside 21 other felony and misdemeanor counts. Charges include strangulation, reckless endangerment, felon possessing a firearm, and drug trafficking.

Bell was held in jail on probation violation while the investigation rolled out. Rock County Court Commissioner Jack Hoag set bail at $100,000 on (Tuesday).

Online court documents say Bell is barred from contact with three other people who the court names using initials only. It’s not clear if those three are considered victims.
