A 41-year-old Randolph, Wisconsin man is found guilty by a Rock County jury of operating while intoxicated 6th offense.
According to the criminal complaint, in March of 2023 an employee at Kwik Trip called Janesville Police to report a domestic disturbance happening in a vehicle in the parking lot. An officer responded and found the vehicle on the move, so he stopped it.
The driver, Theodore Tamminga had a blood-alcohol concentration that was over the legal limit. He was also driving outside the hours of his occupational license and without an ignition interlock installed.
The Rock County District’s Attorney’s Office says Tamminga’s defense at trial hinged on how he was not too impaired to drive as evidenced by how well he parked his car.
An addition to the OWI, the jury found Tamminga guilty of failure to install an ignition interlock device, operating while revoked, and operating with a prohibited alcohol content.
Tamminga faces up to 10 years in prison at sentencing on March 12th.
