A Janesville man is accused of fleeing a crash with a child. Prosecutors say Janesville police responded to a crash on February 6th in the 16-hundred block of South Osborne Avenue. A resident told officers that a GMC Envoy had crashed into their fence and hit a telephone pole before the driver left the scene on foot with a child. The registration of the Envoy brought police to 1617 Pershing Place in Janesville, where they made contact with the mother of 27-year-old Adam Huschka. She told officers that her son was in the basement and high on cough syrup. While speaking to officers, Huschka was swaying back and forth and losing his balance and appeared to be slurring his words. Huschka was taken to the Janesville Police Department, where he showed several signs of impairment during testing. His mother told officers that he didn’t have permission to drive the Envoy and that she was able to care for the child. Huschka is charged with OWI and operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent. His bond was set at 500-dollars. His relation to the child hasn’t been released.
