The city of Beloit is taking an all hands on deck approach in dealing with what could be the biggest snow storm of the season so far. Director of Strategic Communications Sarah Lock says full plow operations will be in effect today. Beloit has declared a winter weather emergency from 9 a.m. Wednesday to 4 p.m. Thursday. Lock says the city looks at the forecast to determine if the city declares a winter weather emergency. This is done in order to warn residents to remove vehicles from city streets so plows can clear the roads more effectively. The amount of time it takes to plow the streets depends on how the storm progresses.
