The proposed Children’s Museum of Rock County probably won’t look exactly like those renderings that were released in 2023.
Board President John Westphal says design work on the shell and core of the building have revealed that the cost will be more than anticipated.
Westphal says the design that was released in 2023 featuring a class and brick front addition added to the historic anchor building was merely conceptual. The actual building may look a little different, but Westphal says it will still showcase the old First National Bank building.
Westphal says they still hope to break ground in two to three months. To date, around $12.5 million has been raised for the project which originally had a $10 million fundraising goal.
