Longtime Milton historian Doug Welch is being honored by the Janesville Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Welch was awarded the Historic Preservation Recognition Award over the weekend for his work in preserving history. He currently serves as the President of the Milton College Preservation Society and has written three books on local history. Welch says his time as a newspaper writer and editor really grew his love for history. He invites anyone to come to the Main Hall Museum on the former Milton College campus and read his newest book “Milton’s Historic Musings.”
