City of Janesville receives reimbursement from state for tornado response

The City of Janesville is recouping some of the costs that were incurred as a result of the June 2024 tornado.

According to a a news release, Janesville has received a $119,000 reimbursement from the Wisconsin Disaster Fund.

The State of Wisconsin established the WDF to provide disaster assistance to local governments. The funding covers 70% of the eligible costs for recovery efforts following a major disaster.

The City of Janesville spent a total of $313,295 on tornado relief and cleanup efforts.
