The 52-year-old Rockton woman accused of stealing from a patient at an assisted living facility in Janesville while she was employed there makes her initial appearance in Rock County Court.
According to the criminal complaint, the mother of a person with multiple sclerosis contacted Janesville Police when she noticed that a $500 Visa gift card that she had given her son was used for purchases he did not make.
Janesville Police went to Five Below, Walmart, and Aldi and obtained surveillance footage of the person who used the gift card.
The victim was able to identify the suspect as Amy Reeser, the program director at REM Wisconsin in Janesville, where her son lives.
Reeser made her initial appearance in Rock County Court on charges of theft and identity theft Monday where Court Commissioner Jack Hoag gave her a $1,000 signature bond and ordered her to have no contact with the victims or her former employer.
