A 26-year-old Loves Park man who falsely reported a shooting to Beloit Police in an attempt to get the man his wife was sleeping with arrested takes a plea deal in Rock County Court.
According to online court records, Nikolas James Frer plead guilty Tuesday morning to misdemeanor disorderly conduct. He was originally charged with false reporting of an emergency, which is a felony.
According to the criminal complaint 10 officers from three agencies responded to a home on the 1600 block of Dewey Avenue on January 31st of last year after Frer called 911 to report that he heard a man tell a woman he would killer her and then a single gunshot.
Officers learned that the resident of the home was in Texas and that he was currently in a sexual relationship with Frer’s wife.
Frer faces up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine at sentencing on February 21st.
