Janesville teenager takes plea deal in armed robbery case

One of two Janesville teenagers accused of robbing a woman walking her dog at gunpoint back in February of last year takes a plea deal in Rock County Court.

According to online court records, on Friday 18-year-old Ishmail Gill plead guilty to armed robbery and operating a vehicle without consent.

Judge Ashley Morse dismissed but read into the record an additional charge of receiving stolen property.

Janesville police say officers responded to a report of an armed robbery in the 3800 block of Creekside Drive.

The victim was able to get the license plate of the vehicle as it left the area. The vehicle, which turned out to have been stolen the day before, was located near Wright Road and Stuart Street.

Gill – who was 17 at the time, and a 15-year-old boy were apprehended after a short car chase.

Gill’s sentencing is set for March 26th.
