Water main breaks continue to be an issue in Janesville with the warmer weather this week. Janesville Utility Director David Botts says fluctuations in weather can result in breaks. Botts asks the public to be patient in the case of a water main break, saying they try to notify everyone impacted by a water shutoff. He says that it typically takes about four hours to repair a break. Janesville experienced six in one day early last week during frigid temps.
