A Janesville man is facing his sixth OWI charge.  Prosecutors say an officer pulled over a black truck being driven by 44-year-old Stanley Dean Kanarowski last Friday near the intersection of Milton and Mount Zion avenues due to a defective headlight.  The officer learned that Kanarowski had his license revoked.  He claimed he had gone to Jimmy John’s to pick up food for his father.  The officer noticed an odor of intoxicants coming from his breath and his speech was slurred.
While performing a series sobriety tests, the officer said Kanarowski exhibited signs of mood swings and an inability to follow basic instructions.  He was placed under arrest for OWI before the officer found an open bottle of Fireball Whiskey and three bottles of Vodka in his truck.  Kanarowski’s driver record shows he has five prior convictions for OWI dating back to 2002.
