A 24-year-old Beloit woman is charged in Rock County Court with child abandonment and neglecting a child.
According to the criminal complaint, Beloit Police received a tip that Scarlet Rella would lock her three-year-old daughter in a closet in her home on Pine Street and leave the residence without her child. The witness reported that they believed that Rella had locked her three-year-old son in the closet in the past.
Police responded to the home and found the closet with a lock on the outside of the door. Rella’s roommate told police that she did leave with one child but not the other and that he found the toddler locked in the closet.
Rella made her initial appearance in Rock County Court this week where she was given a $1,000 signature bond.
