Authorities identify the semi driver killed on Interstate 39/90 when their semi crashed into a Rock County plow truck last week.
The Wisconsin State Patrol says semi driver Louis Mankiewicz, 59, of Milwaukee died in the crash south of Janesville. It was shortly before noon Friday.
Police say a county plow driver was clearing snow near the median on the southbound side of I-39/90 just south of Janesville at the time of the crash.
That’s when they say Mankiewicz’s semi came along in the left lane and collided with the plow truck.
Police say the truck and semitrailer jackknifed, blocking the Interstate for hours. Mankiewicz died from injuries in the crash. The plow truck driver was uninjured.
The State Patrol continues to investigate both the semi and the plow truck as a probe into the crash continues.
